profile
A strong academic background and ability to always learn new technology have catalyzed his pursuit of higher goals. Since his Junior year, he frequently participated in extra-curricular activities to strengthen and expand programming capabilities. In 2019, UF Open Source Club appointed him as the External Relations Chair in light of the active and continuous contribution to Marston vs. West, one of its club projects. Additionally, Alex has participated in three Hackathons, during which he and his teammates built and demonstrated multiple eye-catching projects.
In addition to excellence in Computer Science, his ambition drives him to pursue accomplishments in other fields. In order to seek opportunities to combine his skills in both programming and management, he enrolled in the Master of Science of Management program at UF's Warrington College of Business in 2019. This opportunity served as a start to gain knowledge beyond the scope of engineers and will further facilitate him to be a manager with a good sense in business.
During 2021, he first interned in Alibaba Cloud as a front-end engineer from May to August. In Hangzhou, Zhejiang, the heart of Alibaba's cloud service development, he was assigned to help develop the cloud console interface during the three-month period. After finishing the internship at Alibaba, he soon started his second internship at Xiaomi in Beijing as a software developer, starting from September. At here, in order to cope with various types of demands, such as daily development of the company's privacy policy management platform and reproducing Apple's official website of Macbook Pro and iPhone, he applied a considerable variety of skills, ranging from advanced CSS animation design to back-end development.
Out of a strong passion in pursuing the deeper and wider understanding of programming, he is now going to the University of Southern California's Master of Science in Computer Science program, general track. This opportunity will grant him not only a valuable experience of exploring the cutting-edge techniques employed in software engineering, but will also offer him chances to further practice the skills in the industrial environments.
Currently, Alex is looking for a full-time position in Software Development in the U.S. after his graduation in Summer 2023.
